Responsible for developing new commercial and agricultural business relationships, underwriting, structuring and the closing of loans, as well as maintaining and servicing an existing portfolio. This position represents the bank in the local community through active participation in community affairs and participates in marketing all of the bank’s products and services.
Essential Functions- Adopt the Mission, support the Vision and demonstrate the Values of the organization.
- Source, develop and underwrite loans and financing requests for new and existing customers.
- Negotiate terms, structure loan financing based on risk considerations and present credits for approval to appropriate levels of authority with the bank as required.
- Evaluates and audits the consistency of credit recommendations prepared by credit analysts.
- Monitors adherence to federal and state regulations in the underwriting of lending products.
- Review past due and potentially critical loans.
- Prepare recommendations and analysis for large commercial or participation loans
- Support the bank’s strong relationship banking culture through on-going customer contact and quality customer service.
- Regular and punctual attendance.
- Supports others in the Loan Department, including training when needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Thorough banking and business acumen
- Demonstrates strong lending and financial skills
- Strong verbal, written and telephone communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- PC knowledge, to include word processing, spread sheet and database software.
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Organization and time management skills
- Degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent banking industry experience
- Minimum of 3 years in lending
- Knowledge of banking regulations
- Valid driver’s license
Responsible for the hiring, coaching, training, assessment, performance and management of reporting staff
