About the Role:
The Quality Engineer plays a key role in driving product and process excellence within a manufacturing environment. This position ensures compliance with quality system standards, customer requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Engineer collaborates cross-functionally to resolve issues, maintain documentation, and enhance overall product quality and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead quality performance initiatives by tracking, analyzing, and reporting metrics such as scrap rates, defective PPM, and cost of poor quality.
  • Conduct weekly quality meetings with leadership to review performance, address issues, and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for customers and suppliers to facilitate technical support, issue resolution, and quality communication.
  • Manage corrective action processes, including root cause analysis, containment, and implementation of countermeasures, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities, including data collection, documentation, and report preparation.
  • Maintain revision-controlled quality documentation including control plans, PFMEAs, process flows, inspection forms, and work instructions.
  • Oversee calibration and maintenance of measurement systems, including MSA studies when applicable.
  • Manage non-conforming materials and MRB processes, maintaining accurate logs and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Supervise the sorting area, coordinating personnel and tracking throughput to support production quality.
  • Assist in setup and operation of metrology systems such as vision inspection equipment or CMMs for part verification.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Technical, or related field preferred; equivalent technical education and experience considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
  • Proficient in AIAG Core Tools including PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, and FMEA.
  • Strong understanding of problem-solving methodologies and root cause analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of metalworking or machining processes.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and analytical skills.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma certification.
  • Hands-on experience with CMM programming, vision systems, or other precision metrology tools.
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and collaborative approach to problem solving.
