  • Assignment Type: Travel (Travel Nurse, Labor & Delivery)
  • Location: Franklin, IN 46131 — near Indianapolis, Indiana (local travel nursing opportunity)
  • Setting: Acute Care – Labor & Delivery Unit (L&D, Postpartum, Recovery in same suite; LDRP model)
  • Unit Details: 9-suite unit, Level 1 nursery, approx. 30–40 deliveries per month
  • Shifts: 12-hour days (6a–6p) or nights (6p–6a), typically 3 shifts per week
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Contract Duration: 12 weeks (March 12, 2026 – June 4, 2026)
  • Charting System: Cerner electronic health record (EHR)
  • On-call: No on-call required; floating within unit as needed
Compensation
  • Estimated Weekly Salary: $2020–$2130 per week
Job Requirements — L&D RN / Labor & Delivery Nurse Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
  • Travel nursing experience required (previous travel nurse assignments preferred)
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM)
  • Comfort and ability to care for gynecological patients/procedures when needed
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical assessment skills
Responsibilities — Labor & Delivery RN Duties
  • Provide comprehensive, family-centered nursing care to laboring mothers, newborns, and postpartum patients in a Level 1 unit
  • Monitor fetal and maternal well-being using advanced fetal monitoring and AWHONN guidelines
  • Assist with vaginal deliveries, support recovery, and manage LDRP suite care
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, pediatricians, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Accurately document patient care and assessments in the Cerner EHR
  • Float within the unit as needed and provide competent care for gynecologic patients/procedures
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and culturally competent environment for patients and families
