Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – travel nurse opportunity in Franklin, IN. 13-week travel RN contract, 12-hour night shifts, guaranteed 36 hours/week, competitive weekly pay.

Join a dynamic Medical-Surgical team in Franklin, Indiana (46131) for a 13-week travel RN contract. This role is ideal for an experienced Med/Surg RN or acute care nurse seeking a travel nurse assignment with flexible self-scheduling, strong team culture, and exposure to a broad adult patient population. Franklin, IN is just south of Indianapolis and offers small-town living with easy access to city amenities.

• Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) / Travel RN
• Location: Franklin, IN 46131 (Indiana nursing job)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Travel Nurse Contract)
• Start Date: March 16, 2026
• End Date: June 15, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM) — night shift RN
• Hours / Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week (3 12-hour night shifts per week)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,840 – $1,940
• Unit: 34-bed Med/Surg (medical-surgical unit)
• Patient Ratios: Days 1:5, Nights 1:6
• Charting / EMR: Cerner EMR (experience preferred)
• Orientation: 1 shift clinical education + 2 shifts with preceptor
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
• Floating: Within Med/Surg scope; may include PCU/Telemetry support
• Weekend Requirement: Weekend rotation required (currently 4 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule; may vary with staffing)
• Holiday Requirement: Holiday rotation based on calendar
• Call/Standby Requirement: If cancelled, you may be placed on call with a 45-minute return requirement per facility policy.

• Active RN license (Indiana or compact state) — must be eligible to work in Indiana
• BLS (AHA) required; NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year recent acute care nursing experience in Med/Surg, PCU, Telemetry, or CCU
• Strong assessment, prioritization, delegation, and communication skills
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred (hospital RN / clinical nurse experience)

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients during night shifts
• Manage diverse diagnoses including pneumonia, COPD, CHF, orthopedic post-ops (shoulder, hip, knee), appendectomy, cholecystectomy, diverticulitis, bowel resection, and pancreatitis
• Administer medications and therapies per protocol (includes heparin per protocol; no titration)
• Collaborate with charge nurses, unit managers, and interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Utilize remote telemetry monitoring (no strip interpretation required)
• Document accurately in Cerner EMR and perform thorough handoffs at shift change
• Support and mentor patient care technicians (PCTs) and maintain a positive team environment
• Float within the Med/Surg scope as needed to support staffing and patient care
