JOB RESPONSIBILITIESCoordinates care and collaborates with other health team members to implement patient care. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Utilizing the nursing process in administering treatment.
- Administration of inpatient and outpatient chemotherapy.
- Administration of specialized intravenous medications and other fluids.
- Evaluating, recording, and reporting patient progress.
- Communicating with other healthcare professionals to assure quality patient care.
- Assisting in filing of patient care records.
Assists in scheduling and hematology, oncology, and infusion patient care operations.
Participates in professional role development including continuing education and participation in clinical research and data collection.
Participates in the promotion of the hematology, oncology, and infusion clinic.
Provides appropriate services to meet the needs of the patients as requested by the medical staff, including methodology, accuracy, precision, and reporting.
Participates in departmental and organization-wide process improvement.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and hospital policies and procedures including Blood and Body Substance Precautions and Hazardous Chemical Plan.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAININGMust be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Indiana. At least one year of medical-surgical nursing and IV experience preferred. Completion of a chemotherapy/oncology class with chemotherapy administration practicum and/or oncology training and one year work experience in oncology care and chemotherapy administration is preferred. Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification preferred or must be obtained within the first three years of employment.
Current BLS or CPR for Healthcare Providers Certification required. BSN preferred.

SCHEDULEDepartmental hours:
Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm (some variability on Friday schedule).
