Job SummaryAs a Data Engineer at BD, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining scalable and robust data pipelines and infrastructure. You will work with diverse datasets to enable data-driven insights and support critical business functions within our innovative healthcare technology environment.
Responsibilities- Architect the Future of Data - Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT processes that transform raw data into valuable business intelligence from diverse sources
- Build Powerful Pipelines - Create and maintain scalable, robust data pipelines leveraging cutting-edge cloud technologies (particularly Azure)
- Collaborate Across Teams - Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and fellow engineers to understand complex requirements and craft elegant technical solutions
- Champion Data Quality - Implement and maintain rigorous data governance practices ensuring the highest standards of data integrity, quality, and security
- Document with Precision - Develop comprehensive documentation for data models, flows, and architectures that empower the entire organization
- Solve Complex Challenges - Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues with determination and creativity, ensuring reliable data availability
- Drive Excellence - Participate actively in code reviews, champion methodological standards, and contribute to our continuous improvement culture
- Pioneer Innovation - Stay at the forefront of emerging data technologies and trends, recommending and implementing cutting-edge solutions
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field
- 1 year experience in data engineering, ETL development, or a similar role
- Experience with data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and schema design
- Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used for data engineering (e.g., Python, Scala, Java)
- Understanding of data governance principles and data security standard methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
