The Asset Management team sits within Investments, working alongside Portfolio Management and the Transactions team. The key function of the Asset Management team is to execute the asset level investment strategies across both Multifamily and Student Accommodation sectors, delivering performance targets in line with the Business Plan. The Manager plays a lead role in the operational implementation of Greystar’s investment strategies.

This role supports the development and implementation of business plans and practices that achieve investment and operating goals of the portfolio.

Key Role Responsibilities

• Monitor and oversee individual investments and the overall portfolio performance, critically evaluating existing real estate operations and business plan execution to identify new strategies to drive NOI and maximize returns across the portfolio.
• Partner with Operations to deliver key performance metrics to achieve the business plan, including leasing performance, revenue and expense management, and impact to asset returns.
• Lead compilation of annual operational and capital budgets and business plans for senior management and capital partners review.
• Participate with the Company's senior leaders in routine market review discussions to examine the overall operational and financial results for the asset portfolios, present and justify business plans and make strategy recommendations.
• Actively participates in major capitalization initiatives, acquisitions and dispositions.
• Maintains and develops a broad network of industry related resources to support the execution and growth of the organization.
• Lead and manage team members; interviewing, hiring, onboarding and developing direct reports and other team members as appropriate and managing their performance in accordance with Company policies, values, and business practices.
• Completes various financial, accounting, administrative, and other reports and analysis, and performs other duties as assigned or as necessary.

Role Scope

• Based in our Frankfurt, Germany office, the role will initially be responsible for portfolios/assets in the DACH region with exposure to our flagship Pan-European Fund.
• The post holder will have the opportunity to influence strategies of the Company’s investment projects in the growing DACH region.
• The incumbent must develop a deep understanding of Greystar’s Central Europe operations, as well as building relationships with UK, EU and US leadership and Portfolio Management teams.

• Educated to a degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject such as real estate, business, or finance and/or equivalent experience.
• MBA in real estate, business or finance, MRICS or similar professional accreditation are desirable but not essential.
• IT literate and fully conversant with all Microsoft packages including Excel (Advanced level) and PowerPoint (Advanced level).
• General understanding of / interest in student/multifamily housing.
• Fluent in German and English – speaking/reading/writing.

• Demonstrable senior level experience working in a similar investment, asset or portfolio management role.
