The Bottling & Logistics Manager oversees all day-to-day activities related to bottling operations, co-packing, finished goods handling, raw material receiving, case movement, inventory accuracy, and outbound shipments. This role ensures TTB compliance, product quality, equipment performance, workforce coordination, and seamless communication between Processing, Logistics, Warehousing, and Production. The Manager leads both full-time and temporary team members and is responsible for creating a safe, organized, and high-performing bottling and distribution environment.
The Bottling & Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing all bottling line operations and ensuring compliance with TTB requirements while maintaining product quality and efficient communication across departments.
Responsibilities Bottling Operations & Co-Packing- Oversee all bottling line operations, ensuring accurate filling, closure, labeling, and packaging of distilled spirits
- Ensure all activities meet TTB requirements, including fill accuracy, proof compliance, and correct lot coding.
- Lead co-packing operations and manage timelines, materials, and quality expectations for client programs.
- Verify tank approvals with Processing prior to bottling; coordinate daily priorities with the Process Manager.
- Maintain precision operational control over fillers, corkers/cappers, labelers, conveyors, and packaging equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve bottling line issues quickly to minimize downtime.
- Ensure all finished goods meet internal quality standards and customer requirements
- Perform or oversee in-line quality checks: fill levels, label placement, torque, seals, appearance, and packaging integrity.
- Maintain accurate production and packaging records, ensuring complete compliance with TTB, OSHA, and company SOPs.
- Partner with Quality, Lab, and Processing teams to resolve issues related to proof, clarity, fill, and packaging defects.
- Lead receiving of raw materials (glass, closures, labels, cartons, pallets, corrugate, etc.)
- Ensure inventory accuracy in ERP/Whiskey Systems or internal inventory platforms.
- Oversee case picking, pallet building, staging, and loading of outbound shipments.
- Manage movement of materials between Bottling, Processing, and Warehousing to support daily production needs.
- Maintain bottling line cleanliness and sanitation to meet food-grade and regulatory standards.
- Ensure daily line inspections, machine setups, changeovers, lubrication, and minor repairs are completed.
- Coordinate with Maintenance for equipment downtime, PM schedules, and urgent work orders.
- Assist with sourcing new parts, change parts, and replacement components to maximize line uptime.
- Manage full-time operators, line leads, temporary staffing, and contract labor.
- Train new hires on safety, equipment operation, TTB-compliant record keeping, and quality standards.
- Assign daily roles and monitor labor productivity across bottling and logistics activities.
- Enforce safe work practices, PPE requirements, and sanitation protocols.
- Uphold OSHA, company safety policies, and food/beverage safety standards.
- Ensure the bottling and logistics areas remain organized, clean, properly ventilated, and free of
- Participate in safety audits and lead corrective actions within Bottling and Logistics.
- Work closely with the following areas:
- Processing (tank approvals, proof checks timing)
- Warehousing (pallet movement, inventory, barrel-related requests)
- Quality/Lab (in-line checks, proof verification)
- Supply Chain (raw material planning, receipts)
- Maintenance (line support, PMs)
- Provide daily updates on production progress, material issues, and equipment needs.
- Communicate shifts in schedule or material shortages to the appropriate teams.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in logistics/bottling operations.
- Experience managing bottling, packaging, or manufacturing production lines.
- Working knowledge of TTB requirements for distilled spirits bottling.
- Ability to manage full-time staff, temporary labor, and co-packing activities.
- Understanding of logistics, shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and maintain continuous line operations.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and dependable with strong follow-through.
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Experience in a fast-paced production environment.
