Job Description

As a Principal Dev Ops Developer , you will play a key role in designing and delivering the next generation of Oracle Internet of Things (IoT) Platform components on OCI. You will work across

cloud infrastructure

layers,
Oracle Autonomous Database and Java microservices to build scalable, reliable, and high‑performing systems.

Qualifications Education

BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience

4 or more years of software development experience, including 3 or more years in a senior or lead Dev Ops engineering role focused on cloud‑native applications.

Core Skills
  • Helm : design, maintenance, and support of Helm charts
  • Terraform : design, maintenance, and support of infrastructure and continuous delivery automation
  • Java : strong understanding of design principles, concurrency, and microservices architecture
  • Cloud experience with major platforms (OCI preferred)
  • Observability : metrics, logs, and tracing (Grafana, OCI Monitoring, OCI APM/Logging)
  • Docker and Kubernetes : containerization and orchestration of Java and database‑integrated workloads
  • Cloud networking and security fundamentals
  • Version control and CI/CD tools and practices
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across application and database layers.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with data pipeline and streaming tools
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and environment provisioning at scale
  • Understanding of cloud data governance, encryption, and auditing practices
  • Familiarity with Java 21 (or later) features
  • Familiarity with OCI Dev Ops public and internal tools (e.g.,
    Shepherd, Region Build, ODO, Lumberjack, Dev Ops SCM, Dev Ops Pipelines )
  • Knowledge of Oracle Autonomous Database 26ai and Transactional Event Queues (TEQ)
Responsibilities
  • Automate schema deployments, tenant provisioning, and database lifecycle operations to improve operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure high‑quality, secure, and on‑time software delivery
  • Build and operate control‑plane and data‑plane components , with a focus on reliability, observability, and high availability
  • Perform code and configuration reviews , driving improvements in design, performance, and maintainability
  • Leverage OCI cloud‑native services and tooling to deliver resilient, containerized deployments using Kubernetes and Docker
  • Stay current with advancements in Oracle Autonomous Database, Java, and OCI technologies to continuously improve system design and developer productivity

Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

    Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non‑overtime eligible) position.
