Business Analyst

Job Description

• The IT Business Analyst is responsible for supporting project delivery by facilitating communication between business units, customers, project teams, and stakeholders.
• This role focuses on eliciting, analyzing, and managing business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria while ensuring solutions deliver value to end users.
• The Business Analyst works closely with project managers, development teams, and stakeholders to improve business processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.

• Assist the Project Manager in managing project work through effective stakeholder communication.
• Elicit, document, and manage business requirements including features and user stories.
• Manage and maintain the product backlog for assigned projects.
• Decompose user stories into consumable tasks for upcoming sprints.
• Lead identification and documentation of acceptance criteria for user stories.
• Ask probing questions to clarify requirements and communicate details to development teams.
• Analyze business processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and value.
• Drive adoption and integration of business analyst roles and processes.
• Assess customer capabilities and needs and identify potential solution options.
• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Work with technical teams to define solution approaches that maximize customer value.
• Support development of project documentation in collaboration with the PMO.
• Gather, validate, and verify system and software requirements.
• Support task creation, estimation, and requirement implementation with development teams.
• Facilitate and support user acceptance testing activities.
• Support stakeholders post-delivery to identify ongoing needs and issues.
• Lead analysis and testing activities within assigned projects.
• Research and resolve questions, defects, and technical roadblocks during project execution.
• Create and maintain testing plans using an iterative development methodology.
• Model current and future business processes to align stakeholder understanding.
• Identify gaps in data requirements and support data modeling efforts.
• Create user interface mock-ups as needed.
• Support prioritization decisions by outlining business and technical impacts.
• Work with stakeholders to develop user scenarios and update business procedures.
• Identify and document system recommendations for current and future improvements.

• Bachelor’s degree with a focus in information technology or equivalent experience.
• Two to three years of experience working with business stakeholders to identify and document IT needs.
• Experience with business analysis, requirements definition, and validation.
• Knowledge of and experience with agile development processes.
• Strong analytical, design, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.

• Two to three years of experience in business analysis or related IT roles.

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
