Job Description

We are seeking a contract resource for the role of Infrastructure Manager. The Infrastructure Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing all infrastructure operations and infrastructure engineering to ensure the stability, security, and scalability of our client’s IT environment. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas such as network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, cloud services, and telecommunications systems.

The successful candidate will lead infrastructure teams, establish strategic direction, manage complex projects, and ensure timely resolution of hardware, software, and service issues. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to drive continuous improvement across all infrastructure domains.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: Over seven years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, including over three years in a leadership or managerial role. Demonstrated experience in infrastructure architecture, network engineering, server administration, and enterprise systems management.
  • Education Substitute: High school diploma and over eight years of directly related infrastructure experience.
Required Knowledge & Skills Sets
  • Broad/advanced technical knowledge of network and server operating systems.
  • Strong understanding of network hardware, protocols, and standards.
  • Proven experience in infrastructure planning, lifecycle management, and modernization initiatives.
  • Advanced understanding of infrastructure principles, best practices, and operational processes.
  • Experience managing cloud platforms, virtualization, and hybrid environments.
  • ITIL certification is preferred.
  • Ability to drive solutions to completion and manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to delegate effectively, monitor progress, and report outcomes.
  • Advanced leadership and team development skills.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of short‑term and long‑term strategic infrastructure plans.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, standards, and training plans for infrastructure operations and project management.
  • Conduct research and provide recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards to support infrastructure modernization and procurement.
  • Oversee the planning, deployment, and monitoring of infrastructure security measures.
  • Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of infrastructure systems including LANs, WANs, Internet, Intranet, cloud services, security, and wireless implementations.
  • Define and enforce hardware and software standards in collaboration with organizational stakeholders.
  • Oversee and enforce change management processes related to infrastructure services.
  • Ensure infrastructure services are tested regularly and provide performance metrics, reports, and capacity planning insights.
  • Develop and execute strategies for server, storage, and network infrastructure maintenance and modernization.
  • Ensure all change requests are managed in a controlled manner, including standard changes, emergency maintenance, impact assessments, prioritization, authorization, tracking, reporting, closure, and documentation.
  • Manage infrastructure budgets, provide cost analysis, and support financial planning.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop infrastructure staff to ensure high performance and operational excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Typical Working Conditions
  • Work is typically performed in an office environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • May require after‑hours availability for critical incidents or maintenance windows.
