The Viral Disease Prevention and Services Branch within the Kentucky Department for Public Health protects and promotes the health of Kentuckians in the areas of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) services, prevention and surveillance. This work is interesting and critical to keeping Kentuckians healthy and ending the HIV epidemic. If you are a person who loves contributing to the health of populations, this is the job for you.
This is a federally funded time-limited (FFTL) position. This means it is a position that is paid entirely as the result of a federal grant. The duration of employment shall not exceed the life of the federal grant that funds the position. An employee appointed to an FFTL position is required to meet the minimum requirements for the classification. Further, an employee appointed to an FFTL position is designated as an unclassified (non-merit) employee.
An FFTL employee is eligible to receive benefits at the same level as a classified (merit) employee in a permanent position.
- Provides budgetary tracking and oversight of the Services Section subrecipient budgets.
- Analyzes financial elements of subrecipient programming.
- Assists with contracts/modifications. Ensures budget compliance with federal and state requirements and guidelines.
- Reviews and submits invoices for payment.
- Prepares financial documents to be used for federal and state reports and grant deliverables.
- Performs revenue and expenditure projections, advises management of financial issues and suggests strategies and solutions when situations arise that may have a budgetary impact.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excel spreadsheet tracking.
- Ability to multitask.
- Detail-oriented.
- Budgeting experience.
Education: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
Experience, Training, or
Skills:
Two years of professional experience in statistical or policy analysis, accounting, auditing, planning, or a related field.
