The AR Systems Engineer provides critical electrical and mechanical support for AR and related Rx manufacturing equipment and systems to wholesale and retail customers for both scheduled and unscheduled activities. This customer‑facing role offers remote and onsite support. By leveraging electrical and mechanical knowledge of current and legacy AR systems, along with sound troubleshooting and problem‑solving methodology, you’ll deliver services and resolve issues in a timely, accurate, and professional manner to maximize customer uptime.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair of AR / HC and related equipment in customer environments
- Perform hands‑on work in a production environment
- Conduct and guide calibration processes according to company requirements
- Evaluate equipment performance and process capabilities
- Manage assets and plan asset upgrades
- Refurbish mechanical componentry for reuse (e.g., pumps, valves, tooling)
- Manage self and work assignments
- Ensure equipment is ready for production in a timely manner
- Reinforce compliance with company‑approved methods and quality standards
- Collaborate with management, including lab and production managers, to meet customer demand
- Identify and resolve problems promptly
- Provide day‑to‑day phone support to Zeiss and third‑party labs
- Offer emergency onsite support as needed
- Submit weekly reports in a timely manner
- Set up standard test apparatus or devise test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability
- 5 years applicable work experience
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and HVAC operations
- Outstanding people skills and teamwork ability
- Effective communication skills

- Self‑management and assignment planning
- Problem‑solving capability
- High initiative and proven independence
- Ability to apply principles of electronics, electrical circuitry, engineering mathematics, electronic/test equipment, and physics
- Willingness to travel often, occasionally with little to no notice
The annual starting base salary for this position is $60,600 – $75,800.
