Join us in the exciting, innovative and rewarding environment of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources (KDFWR)! We are seeking a licensed surveyor for state-based agency to perform statewide survey detail including boundary marking, construction site staking, verification of question boundaries, and archival tracking of filed plats, deeds, and state-owned or leased land data.

Responsibilities
  • Performs all field data collection, site staking for constructive needs, boundary markings and remarking, and desktop reviews required to certify surveys and maps on behalf of KDFWR.
  • Coordinates and prioritizes survey needs on statewide basis. Has comprehensive understanding of the agency's current and project landholdings and their respective boundary markings. Knows which areas require renewed boundary markings and formulates plans to fortify those bounds by means of marking or renewed physical surveys.
  • Analyzes data; submits necessary reports and technical information required to certify surveys including stamping with licensed surveyor seal.
  • Oversees and participates in plats, deed descriptions, and mapping developments. Supervises the development of descriptions and plats for property to be acquired by KDFWR.
  • Makes recommendations to Division Director on personnel actions. Performs performance evaluations, approves timesheets and work schedules.
  • Performs other duties as required.

  • Self-motivated licensed surveyor that works well with others and independently.
  • Successful candidates will have comprehensive understanding of land surveying and all required tasks associated with legal surveys.

Must possess a valid driver's license prior to appointment in this classification. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.

Working Conditions
Works outdoors at all times of the year. Employee subjected to extended periods of weather extremes.

Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
