Kentucky State Police is the premier, full service law enforcement agency in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The Financial and Grants Management Branch is responsible for establishing and maintaining an accounting system in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
The Grants Section, within the Branch, provides the technical expertise to ensure all grants within the Agency are administered in accordance with these guidelines. A Grant Administrator assists with the administration of grants by providing technical and historical information to facilitate the effective and efficient management of grants and to provide continuity and consistency in the overall grants program.
- Prepares financial report and submits reimbursement requests.
- Reconciles expenditures and revenues to eMARS.
- Provides audit assistance.
- Assures adherence to budgetary guidelines.
- Pre-audits expenditures and analyzes programs.
- Monitors grant program budget activity.
- Prepares close‑out letters.
- Prepares grant budgetary revisions.
- Manages posting of electronic fund transfer.
- Provides estimated cost figures with regard to purchases, overtime, allocations, federal caps, and remaining balances.
- Provides projections on cost for alternative activities.
- Assists others within the branch and agency to eliminate backlog.

Education:
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
Experience, Training, or
Skills:
Four years of research or administrative experience.
Substitute Education for
Experience:
A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Substitute Experience for
Education:
Research, administrative, or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year for year basis.

Working Conditions:
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Travel is required.
Probationary Period:
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
