Internship 10h/wk $1,000.00 to $2.50k/year

The Frankfort-Elberta Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as a Seasonal Administrative & Event intern. This part‑time position will play a crucial role in supporting the Chamber's daily operations, member network, and event coordination during the busy summer season. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in event planning, community relations, and administrative support within the Frankfort community.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist visitors, providing information about local attractions, businesses, and events.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to email inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain a clean and organized visitor center environment.
  • Manage and replenish visitor center materials, including brochures, maps, and event calendars.
  • Assist with data entry, filing, and general administrative tasks.
  • Prepare and distribute correspondence, including emails and mailings.
  • Maintain accurate records of visitor inquiries and event registrations.
  • Assist with social media updates and website maintenance.
  • Assist with member communications.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of Chamber events, including art fairs, festivals, and networking events.
  • Help with event setup, registration, and on‑site support.
  • Coordinate with vendors and volunteers as needed.
  • Assist with event marketing and promotion.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework preferred).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and Constant Contact.
  • Ability to lift and move light objects and stand for extended periods of time.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation.
