The mission of the Kentucky Energy & Environment Cabinet (EEC) is to improve the quality of life for all Kentuckians by protecting our land, air, and water resources while promoting sustainable energy solutions.
As an Administrative Specialist in the Division of Oil and Gas, you will support the Federal Plugging Program and the Methane Emission Reduction Program.
Responsibilities- Maintain real‑time data on project progress, log communications, site visits and contractor assignments.
- Ensure data accuracy for reporting and compliance purposes.
- Perform in‑depth research to determine orphan well operator status, document findings, and update records.
- Maintain records and photographs to assist with RFP assembly.
- Draft and track formal letters to well operators and landowners.
- Assist with preparation of presentations and federal grant reporting.
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Time management skills and ability to multi‑task.
- Conduct comprehensive research utilizing multiple databases.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. - Experience:
One year of professional, administrative, or business experience. - Substitutions:
Additional education or experience may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis.
This is a federally funded time‑limited (FFTL) position. An FFTL employee is eligible to receive benefits at the same level as a classified (merit) employee in a permanent position.
