Administrative Assistant - School of Nursing
Join Inside Higher Ed as an Administrative Assistant in the School of Nursing. The role supports the Program Administrator and enhances the efficiency of the department through organized administrative practices.
Responsibilities- Office Management:
Coordinate daily office activities, maintain supplies and equipment, file documents, and monitor office expenditures. - Administrative Support:
Prepare documents, manage calendars, handle correspondence, and support confidential recordkeeping for department staff. - Student Conduct & Disability Services Support:
Manage student conduct processes, intake complaints, and collaborate with Disability Services on accommodations. - Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, greet visitors, and respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person. - Project & Event Coordination:
Assist with special projects and departmental events such as convocation and new student orientation, tracking timelines and resources. - Financial Administration:
Monitor and process department budgets, invoices, and expense reports accurately and timely. - Customer Service:
Provide professional service to visitors and staff, maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, and handle service-related inquiries.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Office Management, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an administrative or office support role; experience in higher education is a plus.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Preferred: Familiarity with project management software (Asana, Trello) and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
