Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

Join the team powering iconic snacks. At Frito‑Lay, our Maintenance Mechanics keep production humming. You’ll blend PLC savvy, strong electrical fundamentals, and hands‑on mechanical skill to solve problems fast—and prevent the next ones from happening.
How you’ll contributeFrom the moment a maintenance call comes in, you’ll triage, diagnose, and act. You’ll bring systems back online, document what you did, and plan preventive work to boost reliability.
Your core responsibilities- Troubleshoot, repair, and install pneumatic and hydraulic systems, control valves, and both centrifugal and positive‑displacement pumps
- Service AC/DC electrical systems; read schematics; utilize a volt‑ohm meter, amp meter, and oscilloscope
- Leverage solid understanding of Programmable Logic Controls for automation stability
- Execute preventive maintenance and track work through a computerized system
- Machine parts on lathes and mills; perform repair/fabrication with arc and Heliarc® welding
- Jump in on active repairs to help close them out and return equipment to service
- Inspect equipment, develop repair lists, and set near‑term and long‑term actions to improve uptime
- Share expertise by supporting entry‑level mechanics through complex tasks
- Full‑time role; hours vary by location and day‑to‑day priorities

- Lift 15–50 lbs with or without a reasonable accommodation

- Climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Comfort working around extreme temperatures, humidity, hazardous/loud equipment, and slippery surfaces
- Electrical certification, technical school education, welding experience, and/or maintenance in a manufacturing environment
- Managers often prefer about two years of mechanical/electrical repair training in manufacturing
