Role Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer II evaluates and introduces process and product modifications, standards, and improvements through knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes, while increasing product quality, output, and cost effectiveness for the corporation. The role is based out of Frankfort, IN and requires on‑site presence regularly.
Responsibilities- Monitors and modifies equipment to ensure safety and efficiency in the production line.
- Implements corrective actions.
- Reviews and verifies accuracy of existing procedures and bill of materials.
- Negotiates final design to ensure manufacturability and product requirements; conducts testing and evaluation of products and processes.
- Conducts studies for process and product improvements.
- Develops analyses and testing procedures to anticipate any potential process or product failure.
- Conducts studies to improve plan layout, production line efficiency, and production line control.
- Contributes to product failure mode and effects analyses.
- Manages product or process development projects.
- Collaborates on technical program objectives and product specifications that meet marketing and manufacturing needs.
- Recommends and employs new equipment.
- Provides technical support to developers to ensure manufacturability of developed products and processes.
- Associate’s degree and 4+ years of experience in engineering (Manufacturing or Mechanical preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of experience in engineering (Manufacturing or Mechanical preferred).
- 5+ years prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Solid Works.
- Working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs and their programming.
- The ability to direct, motivate, and provide clear direction in a production work environment.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical/electrical and controls systems in an operational environment.
- Proven project management skills, including delivery of results on time and within budget through dynamic and creative thinking.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills and proven ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams at all levels of the organization.
