BACKGROUNDThe Bridge Thrift Store is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide financial support for the free programs at The Bridge Teen Center and to host ongoing job readiness training opportunities for teens. The flagship store opened in Orland Park in 2016, and the second store (Bridge Thrift Home & Restoration) opened in Frankfort in October 2025. The Bridge Thrift Store has won multiple “Best Thrift Store” awards, and prides itself on being an innovator in the thrift/resale space.
Bridge Thrift Home & Restoration provides an extremely unique thrifting experience, with an emphasis on quality home goods and furniture. The new store is highlighted by the Taking Root Plant Shop, a "shop within a shop" that offers live plants and accessories. The Frankfort store also feature Pop-Up Shop for local artisans and makers, a popular "Antiques & Cool Junk" area, and a section featuring repurposed materials.
Most importantly, the new store also houses a first-of-its kind Job Readiness and Leadership Training Room for students.
The Store Operator of Bridge Thrift Home & Restoration manages the day-to-day operations and leads a team of staff and volunteers in an extremely unique charitable retail setting. This is a key role under The Bridge Thrift Store brand, leading the newest location in Frankfort, Illinois.

- Oversee all the aspects of day-to-day operations of a fun, fast-paced and growing Thrift Store.
- Consistently execute daily procedures and lead staff and volunteers in executing their responsibilities.
- Lead, direct and position team to create a positive flow and consistently use established tools for the daily execution of all “front of house” and “back of house” activities.
- Manage inventory and continually seek ways to maximize space on the sales floor.
- Play a key role in human resources functions; including hiring, evaluations and providing ongoing feedback and training to ensure a strong healthy working team (support from administrative staff and Founder).
- Oversee and approve staff schedule (working directly with the Business Manager for both store locations).
- Collaborate with Logistics & Facility Operator for the organization, storage, and flow of donated goods.
- Oversee the quality of products that are processed, making sure we are consistent and fair in our pricing.
- Support and maintain the staging/display of merchandise (led by the Merchandise Curator for both stores).
- Drive the sales mindset for the team, using your marketing resources and keeping “selling” top of mind.
- Continually assess “back of house” inventory and sales floor space to get product on the floor swiftly.
- Communicate IT, building, and maintenance issues to the Logistics & Facility Operator.
- Oversee the training, ongoing management, and relationship building of store volunteers.
- Create an environment and execute procedures to make guests and donors feel appreciated/welcomed.
- Be an example and implement ongoing appreciation opportunities for staff and volunteers.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting procedures.
- Collaborate with Teen Center staff in facilitating ongoing “Project Serve” and job readiness programs.
- Maintain an active role in leading students who are volunteering or doing community service.
- Identify potential sales and marketing opportunities and communicate with the marketing team regularly.
- Support pop-up events and other special events.
- Oversee the execution of the ongoing “round-up” donation program.
- Other duties as assigned by the Founders.
- 3+ years of leadership experience in a retail setting.
- Experience leading 5+ team members.
- A selfless attitude and a sincere interest in giving back to the community.
- A strong work ethic and the desire to complete all tasks with excellence.
- Ability to forward think, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
