Cashier – Kroger Mountain View Foods

• Greet, engage, and assist customers as a visible cashier/checker.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the check lane.
• Use the POS system to handle various tenders (cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons) following company policy.
• Maintain cash handling limits, control loss, and adhere to company guidelines.
• Enforce restricted sale item policies (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special promotions.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Support safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
• Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and report needed repairs.
• Create a welcoming environment, answering product questions across the store.
• Abide by all local, state, federal laws, and Kroger guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Resolve conflicts in a nonconfrontational, cooperative manner.
• Handle customer and business information with honesty and integrity.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
• Support minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Customer service experience.
• Effective communication skills.
• Basic math knowledge (counting, addition, subtraction).

• Experience as a customer service associate.
• Prior experience as a bagger or courtesy clerk.
