PositionSummary
TheLearning & Development (L&D) Specialistplays a key role in supporting both corporate and store-level retail teams. This person will assess learning needs, design engaging training materials, and facilitate programs that build skills, drive sales performance, and strengthen leadership capability.
You’ll work closely with HR, Store Operations, and functional leaders to create learning experiences that align with the company’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Conduct training needs assessments through surveys, interviews, store visits, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for skill enhancement and development.
- Design and develop training content for retail audiences — including new hire onboarding, product knowledge, customer service, leadership development, and compliance training.
- Deliver in-person and virtual learning experiences using a variety of methods: classroom facilitation, on-the-job coaching, webinars, and microlearning.
- Partner with HR, Operations, and Store Managers to ensure training initiatives support company goals, store execution standards, and customer experience objectives.
- Evaluate program effectiveness through feedback surveys, assessments, and key performance indicators (KPIs); continuously refine materials based on results.
- Maintain and optimize use of the company’sLearning Management System (LMS), ensuring accurate tracking, completion reporting, and analytics.
- Support leadership in building a culture of continuous learning by promoting development opportunities, mentoring store leaders, and sharing best practices.
- Manage logistics for training events: scheduling sessions, coordinating venues, preparing materials, and managing budgets or vendor relationships.
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
