The Line Cook role is an essential position in our food service department that is responsible for providing our guests with quality food products. The Line Cook will prepare sandwiches and other items to order and in bulk. You will also greet guests and answer any questions they may have about our sandwich menu. This position requires a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills, and will require learning and maintaining proper food safety procedures.
The Line Cook may also assist the Food Service Manager and/or the Salad Bar Attendant and may also weigh and price items for purchase.
- Prepare food to the prescribed recipe and in accordance with the guest’s order
- Respond promptly to guest needs and identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Wash, cut and/or cook vegetables, fruit, meat, fish, poultry and/or seafood to prepare for use
- Check products in sandwich unit area and restock items to ensure a sufficient supply throughout the shift.
- Use prep lists to determine production for the day and prepare ingredients
- Maintain clean and organized work area
- Maintain proper food handling, safety, and sanitation standards
- Responsible for various accurate recipe checklists and inventory and restocking of food items
- May be responsible to clean and maintain grill, fryers, and other kitchen equipment
- Full knowledge of proper sanitation, food safety and security procedures
- Full knowledge of menu items and presentations, etc.
- Demonstrate excellent listening skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills to assist guests, fellow team members and management
- Strong skills in time management and organization, with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to read and take direction and execute objectives with an attitude of courtesy and cooperation
- Math skills to complete recipes and par worksheets accurately
- Analytical skills and a degree of emotional intelligence to recognize and solve problems
- Ability to maintain a high degree of pace and intensity for an extended period of time
- Must be reliable and dependable by being punctual, adhering to a schedule
- Maintain positive working relationships with all Team Members and Managers
- The physical ability to stand, use hands, stoop, kneel or crouch, and lift, pull and push up to 50 pounds.
