Our team is diverse, with skillsets and responsibilities ranging from graphic design, content creation and performance marketing to internal communications and loyalty & rewards programs.

We work together to provide expertise and guidance, so that the Staples brand is well represented in all areas.

What you will be doing:
  • Serve as the go-to-market owner for categories, translating merchant assortment strategies and financial objectives into compelling, customer-facing plans.
  • Define category positioning, customer value propositions, and key storytelling moments in the GTM calendar by prioritizing top category opportunities, and collaborate with Merchandising to select priority products, services, and themes for the year.
  • Drive GTM activation across all channels by aligning execution with strategy for site, app, marketing, promotions, and stores, and quickly address and resolve deviations from GTM plans as new factors arise.
  • Lead seasonal planning by highlighting key customer and market moments, setting full-funnel promotional strategies, and aligning merchants, marketing, Merchandising, and Analytics teams to prioritize and execute promotions.
  • Plan and launch micro-holidays and targeted themes while maintaining consistent offers and messaging across all channels.
  • Advocate for category and GTM priorities, maximizing the effectiveness and ROI of marketing and promotional investments.
What You Bring to the Table:
  • Strategic thinker who excels at balancing big-picture vision with operational rigor.
  • Strong cross-functional operator able to drive clarity, structure, and momentum in complex, multi-team initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead without direct authority and bring teams together toward shared goals.
  • Comfortable turning insights into clear plans and decisions that drive business results.
  • Exceptional communication and organization skills, with a knack for managing competing priorities.
What’s needed:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Retail Management, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in go-to-market planning, category marketing, retail marketing, or merchandising-adjacent roles.
  • Experience with omnichannel retail environments, including eCommerce and brick-and-mortar.
  • Familiarity with retail financials, including sales, margin, inventory, and promotional economics.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in a retail or eCommerce environment.
  • Ability to forecast impact of promotions and facilitate proper prioritization with Merchant and Analytics teams.
We

Offer:

  • Inclusive culture with associate-led Business Resource Groups
  • The opportunity to join Staples on a journey to become the leading destination for working and learning for small businesses and consumers.
  • Collaborative environment where your strategic expertise and leadership will drive impactful change.
  • Professional growth and advancement as you lead omnichannel go-to-market innovation.
