Director (Nursing)

This role provides leadership and support to the senior executive position (CNO) responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions/services within the hospital organization. The role will assist in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice on a multi‑unit level, while assuming 24/7 responsibility over the Director’s assigned areas. The Director is accountable for ensuring high‑quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.

• Have highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, proven leadership ability, and hospital operational ability, serving as a role model and advocate for the nursing discipline.

• Assume responsibility for assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice on a multi‑unit level.
• Ensure high quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
• Other related duties as required.

• Education:
  
  Associate degree from an accredited nursing school with a bachelor’s degree in a health‑care related field or a BSN. (MSN or master’s in a health‑care related field is preferred.)
• Experience:
  
  Minimum of 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or director‑level; 3+ years of experience working in the OR at a hospital.
• Certification/License:
  Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice as required by law or regulation in the state of practice; CPR certification.
