As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering high‑quality patient care, assisting healthcare providers, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your Impact
  • Patient Interaction:
    • Engage with patients in a welcoming and professional manner, addressing inquiries and providing assistance and information regarding their medical conditions, treatment plans, and medications.
    • Explain prescribed medications, including dosage instructions and potential adverse reactions.
    • Offer guidance on lifestyle modifications, preventive healthcare measures, and follow‑up care.
    • Address patient questions and concerns to ensure they have a clear understanding of their health status and treatment options.
  • Clinical Responsibilities:
    • Support clinical operations and patient care.
    • Conduct preliminary evaluations to triage patients and determine the urgency of their medical needs.
    • Perform basic clinical procedures such as taking vital signs, obtaining medical histories, phlebotomy, and assisting with minor medical procedures.
    • Document patient information accurately, maintaining electronic health records (EHRs) in compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Medication Administration (prescription meds – NH & ME only):
    • Administer medications under the supervision and direction of licensed healthcare providers, adhering to state regulations and guidelines for medication administration.
    • Ensure accurate medication preparation and administration techniques.
    • Understand medication dosages, routes of administration, and potential side effects.
  • Collaboration with Clinical Team:
    • Work closely with other members of the clinical team to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
    • Communicate effectively with providers and other healthcare professionals to relay patient information and updates.
    • Collaborate with providers on discharge plans and assist with discharge documentation.
    • Welcome and support the training of new clinic team members.
Required Availability
  • Must be able to work 12‑hour shifts in consecutive or non‑consecutive days:
    • Full‑time:
      Three (3) 12‑hour shifts per week with at least four (4) shifts per month on a Saturday or Sunday.
    • Part‑time:
      Two (2) 12‑hour shifts per week with at least two (2) shifts per month on a Saturday or Sunday.
    • Per diem:
      Four (4) 12‑hour shifts per month, ideally working one shift each week.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to work at a minimum of three other Convenient

    MD locations within a one‑hour travel distance from your primary clinic.
  • Required to travel for training shifts which may occur outside of your primary clinic within a one‑hour commute.
Who You Are
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certification or Prior

    Experience:

    Medical Assistant certification with at least one (1) year of experience OR two (2) years of experience working as a Medical Assistant.
  • BLS Certification: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification (no CPR, ACLS, or online‑only classes).
  • Compassionate, Authentic, Patient‑Focused: Support patients through kindness and demonstrate understanding.
  • Proactive and Confident Communicator: Articulate concerns as they arise and communicate directly with colleagues and patients.
  • Trustworthy: Maintain confidentiality and handle patient information per HIPAA regulations.
  • Effective Communicator & Cross‑Collaborator: Build positive relationships with patients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent Team Player: Enjoy working collaboratively and being part of a strong team dynamic.
  • Technically Savvy: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; experience with or ability to learn EHR and business systems.
