POSITION SUMMARY
The Expanded Learning Time (ELT) Summer Social Worker provides critical mental health and social-emotional support to ensure the effective delivery of specialized summer programs for the district's students. This role is responsible for enhancing the educational experience by managing student well-being, providing crisis intervention, and facilitating social-emotional learning (SEL) across the program. Key responsibilities include applying expert knowledge of healthy social and emotional development to support all learners, maintaining a safe and inclusive environment, and ensuring clear communication between staff, families, and community partners.
The Summer Social Worker serves as a vital resource for students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges, requiring exceptional clinical judgment, flexibility, and the ability to manage complex cases in a fast-paced environment. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
* Possession of a valid Massachusetts professional license (LCSW or LICSW) or Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) certification as a School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Framingham Public Schools seeks candidates whose background, teaching, or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging in all aspects of education.
* Educational Requirement: A Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution is required.
* Professional
Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an educational or clinical setting working with children or adolescents.
* Language Proficiency:
Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is strongly preferred.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, caregivers, staff, and the community. Work with individuals and families of diverse backgrounds in an equitable, inclusive, and culturally proficient manner.
