POSITION SUMMARY
The Framingham Youth Theatre (FYT) Summer Program Teacher provides high‑level instructional leadership and expertise, ensuring the effective delivery and development of a rigorous academic program for the district's students. This role is responsible for enhancing the educational experience by designing and executing a comprehensive program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and developmental abilities of all learners. Key responsibilities include creating a classroom environment conducive to learning, defining clear instructional objectives, and supervising the purposeful delegation of tasks to program assistants and aides.
The Framingham Youth Theatre (FYT) Summer Program Teacher serves as a primary resource for students, colleagues, and families, requiring exceptional problem‑solving skills, pedagogical knowledge, and the ability to manage complex instructional projects in a fast‑paced environment. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Candidates holding a valid license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) are preferred.
- Current employees of Framingham Public Schools are preferred.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Framingham Public Schools seeks candidates whose background, teaching, or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging in all aspects of education.
- Educational Requirement: A high school diploma is required; additional post‑secondary education credits in a related field are preferred.
- Professional
Experience:
A minimum of one (1) year of experience as an educator in a school or community‑based setting is required. - Specialized Knowledge: Basic knowledge of effective youth Theatre principles, practices, and trends is required.
- Instructional Design: Experience with curriculum design and lesson planning is preferred.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is strongly preferred.
