International Business Development Manager
Reports to:
CFO and VP of Operations
The International Business Development Manager will lead the international efforts for Topo Athletic, including:
- Manage existing distribution partnerships in Canada, Europe, Latin America and Asia-Pacific
- Explore new market opportunities
- Leverage relationships with all departments to ensure communication and execution of brand goals across international markets

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- In conjunction with the CFO and VP of Operations and existing international partners, establish annual and bi-annual goals and metrics for measurement of success.
- Work with distributors to track operational and financial results through quarterly business review submissions and seasonal surveys. Accumulate and present results to Management team.
- Participate in internal meetings with operations, marketing and product to ensure alignment of strategic initiatives across global markets.
- Work with Marketing Director to ensure approval of all partner created assets and market‑specific marketing goals and initiatives.
- Work with Product Director to communicate international partner feedback and product requests.
- Plan and manage seasonal sales meetings, including at least one in‑person meeting.
- Coordinate with the Finance team to communicate and assist in the collection of distributor receivable balances.
- Routinely review international order backlog to align against objectives and to identify potential challenges.
- Coordinate routine meetings with distributors – at a minimum of a quarterly basis, with monthly meetings for larger markets.
- In partnership with CFO and VP of Operations, identify new market opportunities and assist with prospective calls and onboarding process.
- Assist with management of contract initiation, compliance and renewals.
Competencies:
- Strategic thought leader with the ability to assess current and future business opportunities.
- Effective in collaborating with other leaders to achieve strategic and financial results.
- Ability to understand market specific distribution issues, retail and wholesale operations, sales targets, account planning, product merchandising, inventory accountability, and management reporting.
- Strong financial acumen; ability to track quarterly revenue flow vs. target; solid understanding of order processing, forecasting, payment terms and collection.
- Ability to effectively navigate complex business situations and hands‑on negotiations, with assistance from CFO and VP of Operations.
- Proficient in market landscape analysis including competitive pressures, key categories and success factors.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence at the leadership level and with cross‑functional partners.
- Candidate must be based in the United States (required); MA‑based candidates strongly preferred.
- 6+ years in the consumer goods industry, preferably within footwear, with exposure to or direct experience with wholesale and international partners.
- Demonstrated experience working in a cross‑functional role.
- Prior experience working directly with international partners in a wholesale environment.
- Experience with in the athletic footwear industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Management, International Marketing or other relevant major or relevant work experience.
The estimated hiring pay range for this position is $102,000 to $128,000. The successful candidate’s actual pay rate offer will take into account a wide range of job‑related factors including skill sets, years and nature of relevant experience, training, pay rates of associates in similar positions, the candidate’s location, and other organizational needs. The estimated hiring pay range has been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential.
This range does not include benefits such as health insurance, paid or unpaid time off work, and/or retirement benefits, unless required by law.
