Job SummaryAsplundh Engineering Services (AES) is seeking a full-time Designer/Drafter for our Foxborough, MA/Lewiston ME office. Flexibility is available for a remote/hybrid work environment
Job Description- Perform entry-level Computer Aided Drafting and/or Design under the mentorship of senior staff.
- Support Computer-Aided Drafting Quality Control by reviewing drawings for accuracy and consistency.
- Assist in creating and editing electrical, structural, and/or control drawings using AutoCAD and/or Micro Station software (including One-Line diagrams, Schematics, and Wiring Diagrams).
- Proactively learn internal company and external client drafting standards to ensure work conforms to industry expectations.
- Collaborate with Engineers and Project Managers to incorporate design concepts into CAD packages for utility projects.
- Assist the team in delivering project milestones on time and within budget.
- Attend virtual job meetings and coordinate daily activities with the team.
- Participate in required training sessions to enhance technical drafting skills and industry knowledge.
- Complete and submit weekly paperwork and project progress reports.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical schematics.
- Foundational knowledge of AutoCAD or a similar drafting program (e.g., Micro Station, Solid Works, Revit).
- Self-starter with a high degree of technical savviness and the ability to troubleshoot software tools.
- Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
- Highly organized with a positive attitude and a proven ability to learn and adapt quickly to new software and workflows.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
- Accredited drafting certificate, Associate’s degree in CAD/Drafting, or current enrollment in a technical drafting program.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- Exposure to PDF editing software like Blue Beam Revu.
- Interest in the Construction or Utility industry.
- Reliable, detail-oriented individual who takes ownership of assigned learning tasks.
