About King's Wood Montessori:
We are a 57-year-old private, non-profit Montessori school in Foxboro, Massachusetts, serving 40 children ages 2.9 to 6 years old. Our student-to-teacher ratio is 7:1
Our philosophy is to allow children to be active participants in their learning by giving them the freedom to explore in a safe, enriching environment. We accomplish this by applying the teachings of Dr. Maria Montessori to help each child realize their full potential as an intelligent, creative, and whole human being. We guide the children in a carefully prepared and aesthetically pleasing environment to help them build a strong foundation in Math, Literature, Science, Art, and Music.

- Support the lead teacher in preparing a safe, inviting, and challenging classroom environment.
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to establish class routines and lessons.
- Observe children and maintain records to assist the Lead Teacher.
- Supports all aspects of classroom operation.
- Support with lunch and recess duties when applicable.
- Pivot to meet the needs of our students.
- Self-motivated to learn about the Montessori approach.
- Have strong classroom management skills.
- Maintain a clean and clutter-free classroom and school environment.
- Attend staff meetings and mandatory school events.
- Hours 8:30 am - 3:30 pm.
- Attend in-service training as provided by King’s Wood.
- Complete 20 hours of professional development by attending workshops/conferences or other opportunities approved by HoS to further your educational advancement.
- Model courteous and respectful behavior.
- Maintaining an inclusive, loving, orderly, and safe environment.
- Flexibility, sense of humor, compassion, community-oriented.
- High School Diploma (Required)
- A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferable but not required.
- 1+ Years of experience working with children (Required)
- No prior Montessori experience is required, but the willingness to learn is essential.
- AMI or AMS Montessori Certification in Primary - Children’s House (3-6) age group (Preferred)
- EEC Teacher Qualifications License (Preferred)
- EEC Licensing (Preferred)
- Clear BRC (Background Record Check) and fingerprinting
