We are seeking an experienced Supervisor, PDC Outbound Transportation at our Headquarters facility for Hyundai MOBIS Parts America (MPA). MPA provides after-sales service parts support for Hyundai Motors, Kia Motors, and Genesis. The Accessories division develops accessories for Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis in the United States and Canada.

Description

This position supervises a team of Traffic Specialists at our warehouses and provides support to the Outbound Transportation Manager in supervising the activities related to DDS carrier’s delivery and operations. This includes training and supervising transportation department associates and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP) related to DDS carrier’s operations. Monitors outbound shipments and analyzes carrier performance to ensure that MPA and dealership customers have damage-free parts availability to service vehicles.

Plans, issues, expedites and resolves dealer shipments with carriers to ensure accuracy, quality and timely delivery. Produces daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly performance and forecast reports.

Key Accountabilities
  • Supervise the daily work of transportation specialists, including adherence to PDC Safety Standards and SOPs, tender times and planned route departure times.
  • Prepare work schedules including extra work days and shifts as needed.
  • Assist with training of new transportation specialists, including cross-training of existing associates.
  • Direct the selection and utilization of company assets in support of the delivery department.
  • Review delivery functions and productivity reporting; suggest efficiency ideas and cost reduction measures; assist with implementation of delivery changes.
  • Interpret, train and enforce company policies, protocols and procedures including hazardous material regulations, DOT, and record keeping.
  • Communicate with warehouse and customer service teams to resolve dealer or delivery issues.
  • Visit dealer locations and meet with customers to address issues and assess delivery difficulty.
  • Maintain positive associate relations through regular department or pre-shift meetings; keep open communication channels with transportation specialists.
  • Monitor associate morale and solicit ideas to improve engagement.
  • Work with PDC manager to aid in training, conducting observations, updating methods, and addressing root causes for improvements.
  • Make recommendations for corrective actions or behavior modification where required.
  • Perform management functions related to staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews and terminations.
  • Coordinate activities related to carrier compliance with Mobis Parts procedures; work with carriers, management and contractors to meet logistical requirements at the PDC.
  • Update PDC internal transportation system (Varsity) with dealer and carrier route information.
  • Monitor dealer freight tender and carrier departure times; generate reports and troubleshoot delays with PDC and carriers. Develop and distribute reports on outbound and carrier returns.
  • Notify dealers and appropriate MPA departments of delayed or unprocessed shipments from PDC.
  • Review, analyze and assign carrier shortage claims; work with carriers to implement corrective actions and payment resolution.
  • Run ad-hoc Excel/Access reports to analyze carrier performance and PDC freight tender times; develop carrier performance reports for staff review.
  • Interface with related departments and dealers to resolve shipping issues; investigate dealer claims, labeling, packaging, receiving, quality, and transportation issues.
  • Review and analyze dealer returns to determine economical minimum quantities to reduce handling and improve efficiency.
