Parts Quality Analyst

Location:

Fountain Valley, CA. Pay: $30-$40/hour, depending on experience level

** This is a 1-3 month temporary assignment**

The Specialist, Parts Quality will be responsible for the administration of part quality checks. The objective is to provide clear instructions to inspect both current stock and inbound future stock. This position will also be responsible for submission and effective oversight of Damage and Defective parts supplier claims.

Responsibilities
  • In coordination with the Parts Helpdesk, the Parts Quality Specialist will identify, review, and communicate specific parts inspections for current Parts Distribution Center (PDC) stock, and limited future receipts to identify and quarantine suspect stock. This includes coordination and cooperation with Part Help Desk, Supply, Brands, MPA Accessory, MPA Warranty, and Part Compliance Specialist.
  • Coordinate rework and relabeling activities in cooperation with Part Help Desk, Supply, Brands, MPA Accessory, MPA Warranty, and Part Compliance Specialist, and in coordination with the Quality Packaging Engineer for proper rework process and cost estimation.
  • Track and report on current open inspections, as well as report on statistics related to previous inspections with PDC activity.
  • Submit and process supplier claims related to damage and defect for A/S parts. This position will be responsible for making judgments on these claims and will contest judgments not in line with current MPA policy.
  • Provide special reporting or perform special projects as directed by Management.
  • Update and remove E-Freeze flags in multiple systems, such as AMOS and Smartsheet.
  • Effectively manage all official quality announcements by communicating with the proper contacts at MHQ, affiliates, and within MPA to resolve in a timely manner. Quality Announcements need to be completed in nMGN.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Timely completion of Stock Inspections/Part Checks (measured by a 3‑month target) and accurate Monthly KPI Reporting.
  • Measured by claims submission within 10 business days/14 calendar days.
  • Achieve parts technical claim acceptance rate of 65% that supports the overall goal of a 65% supplier claims acceptance (line basis).
  • Track and be able to report on:
    Stock Inspections, Parts Checks, Official Quality Announcements, Supplier Damage and Defective claims, and track and update/remove inspection flags on expired inspections.

    Bachelor's degree in related field or experience with showcasing individual areas of automotive parts is desired.

  • Reasoning Ability:
    Apply common sense understanding/carry out detailed written/oral instructions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to provide clear direction to PDCs, suppliers, and internal departments.
  • Attention to detail in tracking, coordinating, and following up on multiple tasks and records.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio).
  • Ability to create process maps for various workflows and operational processes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software or system issues and coordinate solutions with other departments.
  • Multi‑tasking capability and efficiency in a fast‑paced environment.
