Job SummaryResponsible to direct the functions of Patient Food Services for the FLORIDA REGION, including management, education, training, and performance improvement of patient food service personnel. In coordination with the Systems Director Operations and Director of Nutrition Systems, ensures compliance with all patient‑related regulatory agencies. Ensures patient satisfaction and good public relations through safe and efficient use of resources.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and implement system’s patient service programs based on system’s medical direction, patient population, and contract.
- Hire, lead, direct, coach, train, and develop patient services managers and supervisors.
- Oversee evaluation and discipline of patient food services employees according to departmental policy.
- Monitor competency, productivity, and documentation accuracy of patient services managers and teams using necessary tools and resources.
- Visit patients on an assigned nursing unit or area to ensure that every patient is visited at least once during their hospital stay.
- Ensure patient services staff assists in achieving stated patient satisfaction goals.
- Communicate effectively with all team members, patients, and families through conferences, individual consultation, and committee participation.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Hospitality Management or related field, or equivalent.
- Minimum of five years’ work experience, with at least two years in healthcare, including one year in a managerial position.
- Certified Dietary Manager required if the associate does not have a degree in Nutrition or Dietetics;
Registered Dietitian preferred. - Serv Safe® Certified.
- Knowledge of food and catering trends focusing on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
- Supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate across all levels in the organization.
- Financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email.
