Material Handler - Warehouse at Grainger summary:

The Material Handler - Warehouse position involves safely managing inbound and outbound warehouse tasks such as unloading, sorting, packing, and operating powered industrial equipment. This full-time role requires physical activity including lifting packages up to 75lbs, using computerized scanning equipment, and maintaining a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards. Compensation:

This position is hourly. Pay starts at $19.30/hour [with three raises in 12 months bringing your pay to $20.50/hour]

  • + $1/hour for powered industrial equipment (PIE) operators**
  • $1/hour for 3rd shift differential

Job Responsibilities

  • Safely complete inbound and/or outbound warehouse tasks, e.g. unloading, sorting, labeling, replenishing, auditing, and packing, with strong attention to detail
  • Ensure products are packed and shipped correctly to exceed customers' expectations for quality and delivery speed
  • Meet safety, quality, productivity, behavior, attendance, and overtime requirements as needed
  • Operate computerized scanning equipment and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA and Hazardous Material requirements
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the leadership team

Job Requirements

  • Comfortable working on your feet with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and dust while working around moving equipment and elevated stations
  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least 18 years of age
  • The physical requirements for this position include frequently lifting, pushing, and sliding packages that typically weight up to 50lbs, and may have to occasionally lift up to 75lbs
  • Able to receive feedback and work well in a team environment
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and physical lifting assessment
