Job Description
We are seeking a Digitalization Technician to join our innovative TEF7 team reporting to our TEF7 Team Leader. This role offers a dynamic mix of digitalization project work and hands‑on troubleshooting. You will be a key player in ensuring our factory's digital systems are running smoothly, from setting up machine vision systems to troubleshooting network issues. The ideal candidate thrives on variety and is equally comfortable at a computer terminal as they are on the plant floor.
Key Responsibilities- Machine Vision System Setup:
Physically install, mount, and cable industrial cameras on production equipment. Configure basic camera settings and perform functional testing to verify performance. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with camera hardware, lighting, and connectivity. - Data Monitoring & Analysis:
Configure screens and software tools to monitor live data trends from machine sensors, verify data is being recorded correctly, and help identify abnormal machine states. Assist engineers with minor programming and scripting tasks (e.g., in Python or VBA) to automate data collection and simple repetitive tasks. - Digital Connectivity & Network Troubleshooting:
Configure and assign IP addresses to new devices to connect them to the industrial network. Act as the first line of support for network connectivity issues on the plant floor; use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve common networking problems. - General Controls & Automation Support:
Assist with the assembly and wiring of control panels based on electrical schematics and support engineers during the installation and commissioning of new automated equipment. Basic PLC programming of automation systems.
Education & Experience:
- Required: Associate's Degree in a technical field such as Mechatronics, Automation Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Information Systems (CIS), or Industrial Technology.
- Experience: 2+ years of hands‑on experience as a technician in a manufacturing or technical support role.
- Required: Microsoft Office, for use for analysis and charting, creating clear technical documentation, and professional communication and scheduling.
- Required: Proven ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Required: Proficiency in industrial networking troubleshooting, including the practical use of diagnostic commands (ping, ipconfig) and physical tools (cable/network testers).
- Required: Computer skills, with the ability to quickly learn new configuration software.
- Preferred: Direct experience installing and configuring industrial machine vision systems.
- Preferred: Familiarity with or a strong willingness to learn a scripting language (e.g., Python, VBA).
- Preferred: PLC programming.
- A strong diagnostic mindset with a passion for root‑cause problem‑solving, both in hardware and software.
- Analytical skills and comfort working with large sets of data.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to producing high‑quality work.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and follow procedures with minimal supervision.
