About Us

Fountain Hills Medical Center is a brand new Micro Hospital set to open early 2021 in beautiful Fountain Hills, Arizona. Encompassing 8 ER beds and 5 inpatient beds, FHMC will also have full imaging and lab functionality. We’re looking for ER nurses who are strong, autonomous, and team‑oriented to provide patient‑ and family‑centered care.

Summary

Provides general nursing care to patients in the emergency room facility by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Explains procedures and treatments to patients to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
  • Prepares equipment and aids physicians during treatment and examination of patients.
  • Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patients.
  • Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
  • Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patients.
  • Responds to life‑saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients.
  • Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by physician and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction.
  • Rotates among various clinical services of the institution such as obstetrics, surgery, orthopedics, outpatient and admitting, pediatrics, and psychiatry.
  • Prepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgery.
  • Assists in surgery by handing items to surgeon, obstetrician, or other medical practitioner.
  • Makes beds, bathes and feeds patients.
  • Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities.
Qualifications

Education / Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common medical regulations, reports, journals and documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and members of the community.

Math Ability

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills

Basic computer knowledge, EMR experience preferred.

Certificates and Licenses

Active AZ or Compact state RN license, BLS, ACLS. PALS, NRP, TNCC.
