Senior Technical Product Manager - Operations Software (Robot Startup)
LOCATION:
Foster City, CA (Hybrid) PAY RANGE: $93 - $103/hr duration: 6 months
- 8–10 years of product management experience with direct involvement in product‑lifecycle management.
- Technical background with the ability to understand software development, back‑end systems, web apps, APIs, and technical tradeoffs.
- Experience defining product requirements, prioritizing features, and managing roadmaps for software products.
The company is building autonomous mobility from the ground up. Our Fleet operations are an integral part of building towards live service. Within it lies Base Operations and Mission Readiness, responsible for the maintenance and repair of our robots.
An exciting time at the company, with heavy demand on our fleet of robots. Daily, these robots are deployed to conduct missions ranging from stability testing to running live routes. To ensure the fleet keeps functioning at peak performance, Technicians and Fleet Service Engineers rely on hardware and software products.
As a Product Manager for Operations Software, you will:- Help build the tools our Operations teams need.
- Steward a software product line, curate its roadmap.
- Work closely with Design, Engineering, and Technical Program Managers to refine and prioritize features and requirements.
- Help define metrics that measure the health and performance of these systems.
- Launchpad product development/push to start:
Go through a list of around 40 service start‑up checks and work with partner teams to identify which can be eliminated and which needs to be automated. Create requirements for engineering teams to automate functionality, develop, test, and release. - Launchpad supervisor view:
As we add multiple depots and pit stop locations, the MR supervisor needs to be able to see all the locations and robots across locations to manage charging and startup processes. The supervisor will no longer be in the location with all their team members, and we need to adjust the view and build tools for them to remotely manage their teams.
- Bachelor's Degree with 8 to 10 years of product management experience.
- Curiosity and a desire to figure out how to make things better.
- Experience driving collaboration, alignment, and affecting outcomes with influence instead of authority.
- Direct experience with product‑lifecycle management.
- A technical background: ability to learn and understand software development, and concepts such as back‑end systems, web apps, APIs, and technical tradeoffs.
- You have stewarded products through their lifecycle in a relevant space.
- You have experience working with Operations and Maintenance teams.
- You have experience in process improvement methodologies.
- You know how to thrive in a growing, complex organization.
- You know how to deconstruct complex ideas and concepts.
Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate or annual salary only, unless otherwise stated.
