Monday to Friday 9 am to 5pm (Hybrid)
This person is responsible for activities related to accounts payable, general ledger, and month-end close. The successful candidate will be flexible, proactive, responsible, reliable, detail oriented and customer focused with excellent, communication skills. They must be able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude. This is a job for someone willing to take full ownership of their workload and interact with all levels of employees throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
• Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
• Prepare monthly reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
• Manage accounts payable and implement process improvements.
• Review employee expense accounting classifications.
• Act as a backup for team members when needed for different accounting functions, such as fixed assets and leases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy in accruals.
• Continuously assess and improve accounting systems and processes
Qualifications
• 6 to 8 years of relevant work experience
• Possess a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls processes
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Positive attitude, team player and ability to quickly adapt to changes
Bonus Qualifications
• Medium startup and/or public company accounting experience
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Accounting Manager based in Littleton, MA. The Accounting Manager will oversee financial reporting, manage financial statements, perform journal entry reviews, and handle fixed asset management. The role also involves analyzing financial data, developing detailed reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will support the finance team by implementing efficient accounting practices and monitoring financial performance across the organization.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data effectively
- Expertise in journal entries and other general accounting practices
- Knowledge of finance principles, including budgeting and forecasting
- Experience in managing and accounting for fixed assets
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time-management skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus
- Proficiency in financial software and accounting tools
