PAY RANGE: $75 - $85/hr.

DURATION: 6 months

TOP 3 SKILLS
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in transportation, aerospace, or autonomous vehicles with hands‑on expertise in chassis, suspension, steering, or braking systems and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis on high voltage and low voltage vehicle systems, including powertrain inverters/motors, HV isolation faults, CAN bus communication, and HMI issues
  • Proficiency with vehicle dynamics, control systems, interpreting electrical schematics and harness diagrams, debugging UDS issues, and providing actionable feedback to engineering teams
Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Support Engineer to serve as the dedicated technical lead for the EMU‑S vehicle platform. In this role, you will focus on deep‑dive root cause analysis of complex vehicle failures across Chassis, Powertrain, High Voltage (HV), and CAN architectures. You will move beyond "part swapping" to perform component‑level and system‑level debugging, acting as the primary feedback loop between the test fleet and Core Engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Deep Root Cause Analysis (RCA):
    • Lead the investigation of critical failures on the R&D fleet, specifically targeting High Voltage (HV) isolation faults, Powertrain inverters/motors, and Chassis control systems.
    • Perform "Layer 1" physical diagnostics using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and insulation testers to validate harness integrity and signal quality.
  • CAN & Network Debugging:
    • Analyze CAN bus traffic (using Vector CANalyzer, PCAN, or similar) to identify missing messages, error frames, or bus load issues causing system dropouts.
    • Debug HMI (Human Machine Interface) issues, ensuring driver inputs (stalks, screens, buttons) are correctly interpreted by vehicle controllers.
  • System Validation:
    • Validate fixes for "hard‑to‑reproduce" bugs involving thermal throttling, battery management system (Client) logic, and regenerative braking anomalies.
    • Support the integration of new hardware revisions onto the R&D platform, ensuring backward compatibility.
  • Documentation & Feedback:
    • Author detailed failure analysis reports (8D or similar formats) that provide actionable data to Design Engineers.
    • Create detailed "symptom‑to‑root‑cause" troubleshooting guides for the wider technical team.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in transportation, aerospace, or autonomous vehicles, with a focus on chassis or suspension systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Automotive Engineering.
  • Ability to safely troubleshoot low voltage and high voltage systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with chassis systems, including but not limited to suspension, steering, and braking.
  • Proficiency in vehicle dynamics and control systems.
  • Proficiency with interpreting electrical schematics, harness diagrams, and state machine diagrams.
  • Experience with debugging Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS) issues.
  • Embrace a holistic problem‑solving approach, identifying issues across high‑level vehicle functions and driving resolutions down to component‑level detail.
  • A proactive self‑starter who can build strong relationships and communicate efficiently and effectively across various teams and in real‑time service operation settings.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with suspension simulation software (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, ADAMS).
  • Familiarity with CAN bus messaging specific to chassis and suspension.
  • Experience with electric vehicle technology.
  • Knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostics tools.
  • Experience with remotely supporting vehicle troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Linux & Python‑based programming systems for fleet‑level data processing.
  • Experience with GPS/RTS debugging.
BENEFITS SUMMARY

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate or annual salary only, unless otherwise stated. In addition to base compensation, full‑time roles are eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Commuter and 401K benefits with company matching.
