Our client, a leading innovator in the automotive and technology industry, is seeking a Hardware Engineer to join their team. The role supports the Hardware Development Department and works closely with the Test Development team.

Job Title: Hardware Engineer

Location: Foster City, CA

Job Summary

As a Hardware Engineer, you will develop, document, and execute component and system‑level hardware testing procedures, collaborating with suppliers, design, and system engineers to characterize the functional performance of hardware components. You will conduct development testing on early prototypes and qualification testing on vehicle‑intended modules, create custom test setups (load simulators, test harnesses, Python scripts), and draft and present test plans, design reviews, and data reviews to ensure quality and compliance standards are met.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, document, and execute component and system‑level hardware testing procedures.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, design, and system engineers to characterize functional performance of hardware components.
  • Conduct development testing on early prototypes and qualification testing on modules intended for vehicle use.
  • Create and develop custom test setups, including load simulators, test harnesses, and Python scripts.
  • Draft and present test plans, design reviews, and data reviews to ensure quality and compliance standards are met.
Required Qualifications
  • B.S. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience in hardware development and testing.
  • Experience with testing electronic, automotive, aerospace, or vehicle components.
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Altium for PCBA and 3DExperience or Catia for modeling.
  • Hands‑on experience with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, environmental chambers, and spectrum analyzers; familiarity with Ubuntu and Python is essential.
