About The Employer

Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, we welcome you to the San Mateo-Foster City School District! We are committed to creating a strong sense of belonging and aim to hire an exceptionally diverse workforce that reflects the students and families in our community. Our district educates approximately 10,500 students (representing 50 languages) in preschool through eighth grades in 22 outstanding schools.

Our family of schools includes three middle schools (Grades 6–8), fifteen elementary schools (TK/K–5), three schools with all grades (K–8), and one Early Education Center. We also have preschools co-located at our six elementary sites. We have various theme‑based schools:
Montessori, Immersion (Spanish and Mandarin), and STEM. Our goals are:

  • Achievement:
Create learning opportunities for all Pre‑K through 8th students, closing the achievement gap and culminating in personal and academic success in high school and beyond.
  • Equity:
Reduce inequitable outcomes for all students and staff by prioritizing equity, access, and inclusion.
  • Wellness:
Provide a safe, caring, nurturing, and culturally responsive environment for all students to meet the needs of the whole child.
