Ultrasound Technologist

Overview

Ultrasound Technologist at Redwood Memorial Hospital in Fortuna, CA. This position is full time and will work 10-hour, Day shifts.

• Under the direction of the Department Director, supervision of the Radiology Supervisor, and in collaboration with radiologists, the Ultrasound Technologist I performs clinical diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures and related activities according to department standards for all patients served: infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
• Serves as a customer service representative to patients, their families, the public, and the medical staff.
• Participates in quality control and organizational improvement activities.
• Serves as a clinical/technical resource for less experienced sonographers.
• Participates in call schedule to meet staffing needs of the department.

• Coursework/Training Graduate of a program in diagnostic ultrasound approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association. Or equivalent educ/experience. Completed equivalent training through self-study, on-the-job training, etc.
• Upon hire:
  National Certification from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• Upon hire:
  National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.

• Experience as a hospital-based ultrasound technologist.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
