THE OPPORTUNITYShape the World Around You – Join our Environment team in Fort St. John
, where your biological expertise directly supports responsible development across northern BC. Your work will help protect ecosystems, inform major infrastructure planning, and support communities and project partners across the region.
- Conduct field programs supporting wildlife, vegetation, wetlands, soils, and ecological assessments.
- Apply biological expertise to deliver high‑quality technical reports that inform regulatory submissions and client decisions.
- Lead components of environmental impact assessments aligned with provincial and federal legislation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to produce integrated environmental solutions.
- Contribute to permitting processes and mitigation planning for resource, infrastructure, and energy projects.
- Engage with Indigenous communities, land users, and stakeholders to support environmental stewardship.
- Analyze biological data to assess project effects and provide evidence‑based recommendations.
- Champion safe work practices and support junior staff through mentorship and guidance.
- Approximately five years of applied experience in biology, ecology, or environmental science within BC’s regulatory framework.
- Experience conducting field biology programs in northern or remote environments.
- Strong working knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation and permitting.
- Proficiency with ecological field methods and tools (habitat assessment, wildlife surveys, wetland classification, GPS/GIS‑enabled data collection).
- Ability to work safely in rugged outdoor conditions and meet all fieldwork requirements.

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $69,700 – $92,300
MB & ON: $63,600 – $87,500
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $62,900 – $83,600
