Position Summary

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position facilitates the admission, discharge and patient transfer processes and is responsible for coordinating patient/resident care when necessary. The role facilitates patient flow through the efficient allocation and utilization of beds, ensures adequate staffing levels and supports patients receiving quality care.
The Patient Care Coordinator assists the Program Leaders in establishing and maintaining standards of patient care and is responsible for coordinating the operations in the absence of managers, department heads and senior administrative personnel.
Days, Evenings, 07:00 to 15:00, 15:00 to 23:00 (rotating)
Dawson Creek & District HospitalDawson Creek and District Hospital is a full service community hospital that provides service to Dawson Creek and surrounding communities. It has 31 Acute Care beds and 15 regional adult psychiatric beds. Dawson Creek is the Orthopaedic Trauma and Surgical centre for the Northeast Region of BC.
