Salary:$184,257 – $215,619 – Permanent Full-Time, based on a 35-hour work week. An additional 3% Location Allowance will be added to posted salary for northern location.
About the Job:The Vice President, Environmental & Subsurface Resource Management (Vice President) provides the strategic direction, planning, and organizational leadership for the Environmental & Subsurface Resource Management Department at the BCER. As a member of the BCER’s senior leadership team, the Vice President is responsible for setting strategic direction, driving program delivery, and ensuring the effective stewardship of environmental, subsurface, and heritage resources in support of the BCER’s regulatory mandate.
The role leads multidisciplinary professional teams and ensures departments within its area of responsibility have the appropriate technical expertise, governance frameworks, and capacity to meet current and emerging regulatory requirements, including required professional capabilities required under the Professional Governance Act. The Vice President plays a key role in advancing BCER’s corporate priorities by modeling organizational values, managing risk, leading change, and supporting corporate initiatives, including equity, diversity and inclusion, reconciliation, and Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA) implementation.
The role represents the BCER with senior external partners and provides trusted advice to executives, the Commissioner, and the Board of Directors.
