Position: South Peace Distributed Learning requires a 1.0 FTE TERM Teacher
Location: Dawson Creek

Effective immediately to June 30, 2026.

This position will be at South Peace Campus

This position will be for grades 8-12 Maths, Sciences, Careers and Electives.

Experience and/or training in online teaching would be an asset.

The successful applicant must be willing to periodically travel to Tumbler Ridge to support student learning.

Dawson Creek Secondary School (South Peace Campus)

Dawson Creek Secondary School (South Peace Campus) is a school of approximately 600 students in grades 10‑12. We employ approximately 50 staff including administration, teachers and support staff. The South Peace Campus is the largest school in School District No. 59 and accounts for approximately 20 percent of the FTE in the entire district.

We have a thriving athletics program that has seen several teams win zone championships. We have an excellent relationship with our local college and many students enter Dual Credit programs each year. In addition to the regular academic courses, we offer a variety of elective courses that include woodwork, metalwork, automotive, robotics, engineering, foods, visual arts, digital arts, theatre and dance.

We also have a well‑established music theatre program that puts on a production each spring.

The South Peace Campus is a Restorative Practices school where we use focused conversations to solve problems and build empathy. We believe that a positive school culture and a connected community are key to ensuring our students have a healthy learning environment. We aim to provide opportunities for growth and development by supporting learners to become resilient, empathetic citizens with the skills needed to excel in the 21st century.

Required Qualifications And Experience
  • Hold, or be qualified for, a valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate
  • Successful K‑12 teacher training and practicum or evaluation documentation
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
