WORK PERFORMED
  • Properly determines classification rate and routing for all domestic or foreign shipments.
  • Communicates with carriers in order to obtain special support with respect to availability of equipment, rates, etc.
  • Reviews papers on all shipmates, to determine propriety of freight classification, tariffs and rates.
  • In those cases of International freight, will determine proper schedule B numbers and Harmonized numbers for Bell Helicopter parts.
  • Will complete all documents for all international shipments such as Shippers Export Declaration, NAFTA certificate, certificate of origin, Chamber certificates, Performa invoices and any other document required to complete an international transaction. International documents could also include an international Airway Bill.
  • Must know Department of State regulations and the rules and Regulations of the Department of Commerce.
  • Must know ITAR regulations as it pertains to different products (Bell Helicopter) that are considered weapons.
  • Completes letters of credit for the finance department, obtaining documents from forwarders such as Bill of ladings, insurance certificates, etc.

Two years college and five years experience in international transportation.

Must have a working knowledge of export rates, application of foreign shipping guides, tariffs, and classifications for Department of Commerce, Census Bureau, and Department of State.

Must know the NAFTA requirements and regulations.

Ability to draft routine correspondence.
