CDL Truck Driver

At Skidabrader we utilize our world class specialized pavement texturing equipment to improve the safety and skid resistance of North America's highways, bridges, and airport runways. We are currently looking for Class A CDL truck drivers with heavy equipment operating experience, to join our team traveling to various locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. Our candidates will be responsible for the safe transportation, operation, and maintenance of specialized pavement surface abrasion equipment.

• The position requires extensive travel to various locations throughout the United States and Canada.
• Candidate will operate a variety of construction/maintenance type equipment in the light to heavy class for road care and construction.
• The candidate will provide routine and manual labor work requiring heavy lifting on jobsites, during mobilization and demobilization, and will assist with cleaning and maintaining the equipment when not on jobsites.
• Must be detail oriented and able to follow the direction of the lead/job foreman with regards to daily production schedule and activities
• Must have the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form.
• Must be able to safely use tools and equipment
• Candidate should have the ability to make minor repairs, and perform preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Knowledge of highway construction and maintenance methods and equipment is a plus.
• Must be able to effectively communicating verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public
• Salary is $27 - $30 per hour OR prevailing wages depending on location of the job.
• Travel expenses covered by Skidabrader including per diem, airfare and private hotel room.

Trucking driver type:

• Company driver

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience/Requirements:

• Heavy equipment operation: 1 year (Preferred)
• Experience with 18 or 13 speed manual transmission.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

License/Certification:

• CDL CLASS A (Required)

Willingness to travel:

• 90% (Required)
